Some Swedish traitors in charge of their nation's education recently tried to ban teaching most of Swedish history in their history classes, especially anything before 1700. Since the Viking Age (793–1066 AD) and Sweden's peak as a great power (roughly 1629-1700) were conveniently over by this not so arbitrary date - this seems designed to emphasize only decline, or make sure even Swedes themselves don't know most of Sweden's past greatness. (You knew Sweden once had colonies in India, Africa, the Caribbean, and even Delaware - in the United States - right?)
