Hopi Prophecy: Red Cap Man
Many years ago I was fascinated with prophecies. End Times prophecies from the bible and Nostradamus prophecies topped my list, and I wrote books on both of them. I studied Edgar Cayce, “America’s Sleeping Prophet” - and a variety of other psychics - especially those affiliated with U.S. intelligence agency projects such as Ingo Swann, Pat Price, and Chan Thomas. All these sources have thousands of pages of material to analyze.
Then there are other sources of prophecy that I was dimly aware of but there was very little said about them. One example is Hopi prophecy, specifically about the Red Cap Man or Red Hat Man.
Before we focus on the Red Cap Man trying to help those in the land of the Hopi make the right choice just before the transition to the next world age, I offer a Hopi creation story (as summarized by Oscar Paez) of how we got to this point:
“The Hopi oral tradition describes the cyclical emergence of humanity through four worlds, each marked by creation, moral decline, and destruction, culminating in a transition to the current Fourth World and an impending Fifth World. Below is the story of the four humanities and the prophesied transition to the Fifth World, as shared by Hopi elders…
In the beginning, the Creator, Taiowa, made the First World, Tokpela, a place of harmony and infinite space. Taiowa created Sotuknang, his nephew, to shape the world and give life to its creatures. Humans were formed with the breath of life, given understanding, and instructed to live in balance with nature, respecting Taiowa’s plan. They could communicate with animals and plants, living simply and spiritually.
However, over time, some humans became corrupted, forgetting Taiowa’s teachings. They grew selfish, quarreled, and misused their wisdom for personal gain, creating disharmony. Sotuknang warned them to return to the right path, but only a few, the faithful, listened. To preserve these pure-hearted ones, Taiowa instructed Sotuknang to destroy Tokpela. The faithful were led to safety in underground shelters guided by Ant People, who taught them survival skills. The First World was cleansed by fire—volcanic eruptions and a great heat—ending the first humanity…
The faithful survivors emerged into the Second World, Tokpa, a cooler, darker realm. Taiowa gave them a new chance to live in harmony, and they rebuilt their lives, planting crops and honoring the Creator. Initially, they followed the spiritual path, maintaining balance with the earth. But again, corruption crept in. People became obsessed with material possessions, crafting fine goods and trading excessively. They neglected their spiritual duties, ignored Taiowa’s laws, and grew distant from nature.
Sotuknang appeared again, urging them to remember their purpose, but most ignored him, mocking the faithful few. Taiowa decided to end the Second World, sparing only those who remained true. The chosen were sheltered, some say with the Ant People again, while Sotuknang caused the earth to shift its poles, freezing the world in ice. The Second World was destroyed by a great cold, and its humanity perished, save for the righteous who survived…
The survivors entered the Third World, Kuskurza, a warmer, fertile land. Here, humanity advanced, building great cities and developing sophisticated technologies. The Hopi say this world saw “flying shields” (possibly advanced vehicles) and powerful tools, but these gifts came with responsibility. At first, people lived well, but pride and greed took hold. They misused their knowledge, waging wars and creating “two-hearted” societies—people who thought with their minds rather than their hearts. Immorality spread, and some even used spiritual powers for evil, manipulating others.
Sotuknang warned that this world, too, would end if they did not change. Most laughed, believing their cities invincible. Taiowa chose the faithful few, guiding them to safety with Spider Woman, who wove protective webs or led them to hidden places. Then, Sotuknang called upon the waters to rise, flooding the Third World in a great deluge. The earth was cleansed, and only those who remembered Taiowa’s teachings survived the destruction of Kuskurza…
The survivors emerged into the Fourth World, Tuwaqachi, our current world, through a place called Sipapuni, a sacred emergence point (often linked to a site in the Grand Canyon or near Oraibi). Spider Woman or other guardians led them, and Maasaw, the caretaker of this world, greeted them. Unlike previous worlds, Maasaw appeared humble, wearing simple clothes, and taught them to live modestly, farm the land, and respect the earth’s cycles. He gave the Hopi their name, meaning “peaceful people,” and entrusted them with stewardship of the Fourth World, instructing them to migrate to the four corners of the earth to learn its ways before settling in their center, the Hopi mesas.
The Fourth World is incomplete, a place of trial where humanity must choose between the spiritual “Path of Life” and the materialistic “Path of Technology” (as depicted on the Prophecy Rock). The Hopi were told to watch for signs of imbalance: wars, environmental destruction, and moral decay. These signs, like the “gourd of ashes” (nuclear weapons), “talking cobwebs” (communication networks), and a “house of mica” (the United Nations), indicate the Fourth World’s nearing end. Three great “shakings” (global conflicts, possibly World Wars I and II, with a third looming) warn of a coming Purification Day, when the world will be cleansed of evil through natural disasters and upheaval if humanity strays too far.
Transition to the Fifth World
The Hopi prophecy foretells a transition to the Fifth World, a time of renewal and everlasting peace, but only after the Fourth World’s Purification. The path to this new world depends on humanity’s choices:
- **The Faithful Path**: Those who live humbly, respect nature, and follow Taiowa’s teachings (the “One-Hearts”) will survive the Purification. They will be guided to the Fifth World, a paradise of harmony where humanity lives as one with the Creator, free of greed and conflict. The Hopi, as keepers of this knowledge, believe their ceremonies help maintain the world’s balance to ease this transition.
- **The Purification Day**: If humanity persists on the materialistic path, the Fourth World will end in chaos—earthquakes, floods, climate shifts, and wars. The Blue Star Kachina, a celestial sign, will appear, “dancing in the plaza” and removing its mask, signaling the start of the Purification. Only the pure-hearted will endure, chosen to rebuild the Fifth World.
- **The True White Brother (Pahana)**: A figure called Pahana, the True White Brother, will return with two helpers (large groups or nations) to aid the Hopi. He carries a missing piece of a sacred stone tablet given to the Hopi by Maasaw, proving his identity. If the Hopi remain true, Pahana will bring a “new life plan,” uniting people for the Fifth World. If not, his return may judge those who failed.
The transition is not fixed—humanity can “cushion” the Purification by choosing the spiritual path, uniting, and restoring balance. The Fifth World promises a return to Tokpela’s harmony, but only for those who remember Taiowa’s way. The Hopi stress that this prophecy is for all people, not just themselves, urging everyone to live simply and protect the earth.”
I want to stress a few things not emphasized in Oscar Paez’s summary of the Hopi’s five worlds. If the 5th world is a golden age just like the 1st world, then this aligns with the cyclic view of four world ages of roughly 6,000 years each during every great cycle of the precession of the equinoxes. Each transition to a new age comes with a pole shift, which some sources emphasize. One such source “is The Book of the Hopi by Frank Waters, which describes a Hopi prophecy about two warrior brothers who guard the poles to keep the world spinning. The book details how these brothers would stop their duty [and abandon their posts], causing the “pole shift” that will end the current world and usher in a new era.“
Paez also mentioned some signs indicating the end of the present world age is fast approaching, like the coming of white skinned men who would dominate Turtle Island/North America, greed, immorality, selfishness, and wars. He didn’t really emphasize the image of diverging paths depicted on Prophecy Rock with the sun and swastika together at the fork, which could easily symbolize Japan and Nazi Germany together in WWII as the side favoring technological advances and evil morals. Another site gives a more specific list of signs:
One last very specific sign on timing the end of the age is that the Hopi say “We were told that someone would try to go up to the moon: that they would bring something back from the moon; and that after that, nature would show signs of losing its balance.”
‘We Hopi believe that the human race has passed through three different worlds and life ways since the beginning. [Three in the past, we are now in the fourth world age.]
At the end of each prior world, human life has been purified or punished by the Great Spirit “Massauu” due mainly to corruption, greed, and turning away from the Great Spirit’s teachings.
The last great destruction was the Flood which destroyed all but a few faithful ones who asked and received a permission from the Great Spirit to live with Him in this new land.
The Great Spirit said, “It is up to you, if you are willing to live my poor, humble, and simple life way.
It is hard but if you agree to live according to my teachings and instructions, if you never lose faith in the life I shall give you, you may come and live with me.”
The Hopi and all who were saved from the great Flood made a sacred covenant with the Great Spirit at that time.
We Hopi made an oath that we will never turn away from Him.
For us the Creator’s laws never change or break down.
To the Hopi the Great Spirit is all powerful.
He appeared to the first people as a man and talked with them in the beginning of this creation world.
He taught us how to live, to worship, where to go and what food to carry, gave us seeds to plant and harvest.
He gave us a set of sacred stone tablets into which He breathed all teachings in order to safeguard his land and life.
In these stone tablets were made, instructions and prophecies and warnings.
This was done with the help of a Spider woman and Her two grandsons.
They were wise and powerful helpers of the Great Spirit…’
‘It was to the Spider woman’s two grandsons the sacred stone tablets were given.
These two brothers were then instructed to carry them to a place the Great Spirit had instructed them.
The older brother was to go immediately to the east, to the rising sun and upon reaching his destination was instructed to immediately start to look for his younger brother who shall remain in the land of the Great Spirit.
The Older brother’s mission when he returned was to help his younger brother (Hopi) bring about peace, brotherhood and everlasting life on his return.
Hopi, the younger brother, was instructed to cover all land and mark it well with footprints and sacred markings to claim this land for the Creator and peace on earth.
We established our ceremonials and sacred shrines to hold this world in balance in accordance with our first promise to the Creator.
This is how our migration story goes, until we meet the Creator at Old Oribe (place that solidifies) over 1000 years ago.
It was at that meeting when he gave to us these prophecies to give to you now at this closing of the Fourth World of destruction and the beginning of the Fifth World of peace.
He gave us many prophecies to pass on to you and all have come to pass.
This is how we know the timing is now to reveal the last warnings and instructions to mankind.
We were told to settle permanently here in Hopi land where we met the Great Spirit and wait for Older Brother who went east to return to us.
When he returns to this land he will place his stone tablets side by side to show all the world that they are our true brothers.
When the road in the sky has been fulfilled and when the inventing of something, in Hopi means, gourd of ashes, a gourd that when drops upon the earth will boil everything within a large space and nothing will grow for a very long time.
When the leaders turned to evil ways instead of the Great Spirit we were told there would be many ways this life may be destroyed.
If human kind does not heed our prophecy and return to one’s original spiritual instructions.
We were told of three helpers who were commissioned by the Great Spirit to help Hopi bring about the peaceful life on earth would appear to help us and we should not change our homes, our ceremonials, our hair, because the true helpers might not recognize us as the true Hopi.
So we have been waiting all these years.
It is known that our True White Brother, when he comes, will be all powerful and will wear a red cap or red cloak.
He will be large in population, belong to no religion but his very own.
He will bring with him the sacred stone tablets.
With him there will be two great ones both very wise and powerful.
One will have a symbol or sign of swastika which represents purity and is Female, a producer of life.
The third one or the second one of the two helpers to our True White Brother will have a sign of a symbol of the sun.
He, too, will be many people and very wise and powerful.
We have in our sacred Kachina ceremonies a gourd rattle which is still in use today with these symbols of these powerful helpers of our True Brother.
It is also prophesied that if these three fail to fulfill their mission then the one from the west will come like a big storm.
He will be many, in numbers and unmerciful.
When he comes he will cover the land like the red ants and over take this land in one day.
If the three helpers chosen by the Creator fulfill their sacred mission and even if there are only one, two, or three of the true Hopi remaining holding fast to the last ancient teaching and instructions the Great Spirit, Massauu will appear before all and our world will be saved.
The three will lay out a new life plan which leads to everlasting life and peace.”
In summary, the Hopi believe there are world ages that end in destruction with a pole shift and renewal in a new world age. The current age is ending soon, but before it does, North America will be ruled by a true white brother wearing a red cap. He will present information that will in reality be very old (from ancient stone tablets) but will be a new revelation to the uninitiated (most of the world) who will consider it a form of disclosure that affects everyone’s understanding of reality. The people will need to decide if they want to follow the path of humble simplicity and peace taught by God/the great spirit, or rely on humanity’s alternative path of technological advancement and war. The simple life will lead to peace and harmony. If this is not chosen, the “gourd of ashes” will be used and there will be pillars of fire and an enemy from the West (across the Pacific?) will overrun the land of the Hopi like a swarm of red ants (China?)
Either way, the transformation to a new way of life (some call their way the Great Reset) is coming soon, heralded not by Pahana (messiah?) himself - though he is coming soon as well - but by the great white brother in the red cap leading North America. [Some interpretations feel they are the same individual.] Red Cap/Great White Brother has two important helpers (representing purity and abundance) and has some great disclosure of information for us before we choose our path.
Could it be? If Donald Trump is the white leader of North America wearing the red cap, the time is soon. Which according to some versions, could be pretty scary. The time of change is sometimes associated with “dark skies full of ships.”
So is the transformative disclosure of information our introduction to the confirmed existence of extraterrestrials? The Hopi say “the Blue Star Kachina, a celestial sign, will appear, ‘dancing in the plaza’ and removing its mask.” Is this a description of aliens revealing themselves? Is Trump going to offer the world ET disclosure? Would such events lead to a re-evaluation of both our religions and our views of “other” people - as our differences with people from another culture, race, religion, and country will pale in comparison to the aliens?
