R.I.P. Charlie Kirk
I liked Charlie Kirk because he struck me as someone who was logical and cared about America. He reached out to young people across the political spectrum and did so respectfully. Since I learned about his murder this afternoon it has bothered me immensely. I won’t pontificate at length because a friend already did and I agree with what I’ve seen posted already:
“If you're not online, if all your news comes through a filtered source like the NYT or NPR, or if you just don't pay attention, you don't understand what is happening in this country. I was mulling this over last night in regards to the savage stabbing of Iryna Zarustska by yet another career criminal on the streets due to "compassionate" crime policies, and the direct parallels to the Daniel Penny case in NY. And then today Charlie Kirk takes a bullet through the throat. Assassinated because he was effective. And I'm not surprised.
But I am enraged, I'm not going to pretend to be thinking all holy thoughts and sad. No. Charlie Kirk, despite how he was slandered by the press was one of the moderate ones. He believed in peaceful debate. He stood on principal and lived by a strong christian moral code. And he was killed literally in the moment he was decrying left wing violence.
If you're not particularly plugged in, You've been sensing the changes to this country for years, like seeing the water retreating from the shoreline as the tsunami approaches and not recognizing what it is you're looking at. The left has a violence problem. There is no moral code restraining leftists. I know you've been told the right are a bunch of fascist nazis and violent to the core, but so far the evidence just doesn't bear that out. I pray the right continues to be restrained from physical violence by their principals and morality. I fear that's about to change. That someone will think it is their righteous duty to take up arms. And if they do it's very likely they'll be more effective than the left has been.
Our nation is on the cusp, perhaps has just slipped over. We certainly seem to have entered another era of leftist political terrorism at the least echoing the weather underground years or the black panthers. Hopefully that's all that this is. And just to clarify, when I say leftist, I'm referring to the extreme left, fueled by the media and establishment narratives and lies. Unrestrained by christian ethics. There are plenty on the left sincerely decrying this violence who also believe in debate.
I thought Konstantin's tweet below was apropos. He's a Brit who is by any honest definition a left leaning moderate. And I think he's spot on in his analysis.”
