Sometimes Complete Strangers Think I'm Not Crazy

Though you can't always tell from the online reactions

There was a time some years ago when I could Google my name and find well over 100,000 sites including tabloids around the world mocking my books and ideas. Did I hit a nerve with the people who run things? Then almost as fast as they appeared, all that commentary disappeared. Maybe they realized “all publicity is good publicity” …though it doesn’t really lead to book sales if it’s not in English-speaking countries…

On a better note, as I just posted on Facebook:

Sometimes my close friends buy and read my books and write nice reviews. Sometimes FB friends see a post like this and tell me "I didn't even know you were an author - you should post more about your books." And sometimes, complete strangers love my book and write a five star review, like this one from a few days ago (which I'll quote even though FB will basically shadowban the post for its topic.)

"This subject of not only Hitler but other Nazis escaping to South America has been around for decades. Anybody curious about that have to wonder why? And exactly who were the players involved?

This book lays out the reason why quite well. It was definitely a trade involving technology which Germany was more advanced and a mad dash to keep it from Stalin. In return Hitler and other high ranking Nazis were granted secret, unobstructed passage to places like Argentina. That was the trade along with secrecy.

The who part of the book is very detailed. I think everybody would expect Allen Dulles’ involvement but it gets interesting when the author contrasts the philosophy towards Germany and the Soviet Union between FDR and Harry Truman.

The Vatican was also deeply involved. Then there are the host countries in South America, particularly the Perons.

I always thought it was detestable to aid war criminals rather than try them. “Hiding Hitler: The Offer America Couldn’t Refuse“ explains what the motivation was. Whether the reader agrees with it or not, you get an idea of what the people that were involved were thinking at the time.

This book does a great job debunking the suicide myths of Hitler and Eva Braun. No doubt whatsoever that it was faked. Where it gets murky is what happened after that and when and where did the Nazis eventually die? There are no concrete answers.

On a side note, I have heard speculation throughout the years about FDR’s death and the closed casket. Mr. Montaigne provides some interesting theories on that subject.

Another topic that doesn’t seem to have unanimous consensus is the date of Hitler’s escape from Berlin and exactly what route they took. The author has a sensible reason for what he believes was that date.

I enjoyed the book and recommend it."
