The Earth's Magnetic Field Is Shifting, Poles May Flip
Are we overdue for a pole shift? Earth's magnetic field used to weaken about five per cent per century. Recently it is happening at least ten times faster, at five per cent per decade. The North Magnetic Pole is also racing towards Russia at over 40 miles per hour - though the government stopped allowing public access to the data years ago, and it could be much faster now. If we compare that to the 0.4 miles per year the North Magnetic Pole is estimated to have moved between 1831 and 1904 - then as of a few years ago, the movement was already 100 TIMES FASTER than it used to be.
Notice that the movement between 1831 and 1930 is far less than the movement between 1998 and 2005, and has accelerated further since the government stopped publicizing its data.
Some evidence suggests that mass extinctions are linked to magnetic pole shifts, probably because the geophysical axis will follow suit and we will suffer a catastrophic rotational pole shift, in which the entire crust of the Earth suddenly moves in one solid piece over the core below. In January 2018, scientists began to acknowledge that the magnetic field of the Earth is beginning to act like it does in their computer simulations of what happens in the early stages of a magnetic pole shift. What happens next? How soon is it likely to affect us? Read: Pole Shift: Evidence Will Not Be Silenced
