What Will Cause the World to “Faint with Fear”: Apocalyptic Skies of Celestial Disturbances? Or Mark Biltz’s Benign Lunar Eclipses?

"As I have argued in my book Antichrist Before the Day of the Lord: What Every Christian Needs to Know About the Return of Christ, the celestial disturbances described in Joel 2, Matthew 24, Luke 21, and Revelation 6, to name a few key passages, will not be caused by the moon or the sun itself—but by the earth’s own atmospheric phenomenon that will make the sun appear to go dark and the moon blood-red color.

Here is a portion of what I wrote:

It is phenomenological language— that is, from our human perspective. So, what will be the exact nature of these celestial events? It is likely that the falling stars refer to meteors and the moon turning blood red and the sun darkening will be caused by an earthly cataclysmic disaster, possibly volcanoes (or worse, a singular super volcano). In any case, it will not be a single celestial event. It will be multiple events functioning together as a salvo of havoc, signaling the day of the Lord as unmistakable (page 63).

It will not be discerned by looking up the NASA calendar for the next lunar eclipse as Mark Biltz and John Hagee would like you to think.

Instead, check out these amazing pictures of a recent volcano that, I believe, is a small preview of what the universal celestial phenomenon described in the Bible will look like just before Jesus’ return:

After you see these pictures, tell me, what would frighten the world more if they experienced this blood-sky, coupled with major earthquakes, tsunamis, and meteorites? I think the answer is obvious. Certainly not pretty NASA pictures of a lunar eclipse.

Let’s get biblical with our theology, people.

I have to agree with Kurschner (whose Antichrist book, also linked above - is excellent) that while Blood Moons may be signs, we need to see something far more spectacular than an eclipse to experience fear.  A supervolcano could just about wipe out life on Earth, and volcanic eruptions are much more likely during the pole shift event I would argue for at the end of Daniel's 70th week.  But I also argue that the pole shift and the volcanic activity (and tsunamis and earthquakes and...) are caused by the arrival of what Dr. Paul LaViolette named a "galactic superwave."

The central black hole of ALL spiral galaxies, including our own Milky Way, has an inactive phase about 85% of the time, but has a very regular and predictable ACTIVE phase in which it spews out a long burst of light, radiation, gravity waves, and dust.  At least two such expanding spheres are approaching Earth (and every other point in the galaxy) at light speed ALL THE TIME.  We can't detect them approaching us head on at light speed, but we can see them in neighboring galaxies like Andromeda and we can detect signs of the last event arriving both here and in other star systems.
