Will The Ark of the Covenant Show Up Again for the End Times?
I strongly suspect that the Ark of the Covenant was taken to Ethiopia thousands of years ago... And that God's powers could manifest through it and fulfill certain end times prophecies in the near future. Especially during Armageddon. But Jeremiah Jameson at the EndTimesProphecyReport blog has an article here:
The Ark of the Covenant in the End Times
which I quote much of below, explaining why the Ark of the Covenant does NOT (should not) figure in to our end times expectations...
Because the media–particularly the misnamed “Christian media“–regularly keep it before the church folk, there’s little chance that the Ark of the Covenant (the box which contained the two tablets of the Ten Commandments, the staff of Aaron and a pot of manna: three reminders of long ago Israel’s incidents of unfaithfulness to God) will be forgotten by the apostates in the churches.
“And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all; Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant” –Hebrews 9:3-4
“Ark of the Covenant, Ark of the Covenant, Ark of the Covenant!”
The church folk believe (because they have been misled) that the Ark of the Covenant will figure prominently in the end times.
There is only one reference in God’s Word about the Ark of the Covenant pertaining to the end times.
“And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.“ –Jeremiah 3:16
Can the reader guess why?"
Possibilities include that the original covenant was broken and no longer matters; that the Jews no longer cared about the ark or the ten commandments; that the ark was lost - possibly forever; that Jesus replaced the need for the original covenant and commandments... I have my own peculiar thoughts on end times prophecy after many years of research and writing books... Please comment below if you have other thoughts.
