A forty year old patient can once again feel below the waist and even (feebly) walk, thanks to the insertion of specialized nerve cells which allowed his body to heal and regenerate a connection across the 8mm gap from a stabbing - when a knife completely separated his spinal column. This isn't my usual kind of topic to blog about but I am amazed.
