Jerusalem was darkened two thousand years ago at the crucifixion – Matthew 27:45, Mark 15:33, and Luke 23:44-45 all comment on it. Luke wrote “tou heliou ekleipontos” – that the sun failed. This was a crucial day for the souls of mankind, when the price for salvation was paid.
