This shouldn't be news. The United States of America was, relative to the rest of the world, at its peak in 1945. As other nations recovered from WWII and modernized, the ratio of power changed - and not in favor of the USA. China has been the main potential rival for decades, since eclipsing Russia for the number two spot in the power hierarchy.
